Morning, everyone,
A gorgeous 75 right now in the Missouri Ozarks and we're looking at a high of 90 and bright sunshine!
Boji, mighty fine views there. I love going to Pomme De Terre lake close to me with some fast food or ice cream. We have two places right next to the lake to have our choice of food and then take to our choice of views. Can be very relaxing and pleasant.
Guess it's my turn at the mowing today. The heat really tamps down any grass growing, but once the temps are normal again...WHOOSH! Up it comes with a vengeance.
Treefarmer, I'll tell you, I used to get so p*ssed off and raging mad at politics and news. Now, I find a lot of it laughable. Some things are so outrageous and stupid, you'd swear we're watching a scripted tv show. The only reaction is

Out of curiosity I looked up what the property taxes are on one of those $2 million plus lakeshore houses, $33,000 a year.
I showed the quieter side of the area.
Boat traffic is crazy especially on weekends. Sadly yesterday afternoon there was a collision of 2 boats, 1 death, 5 seriously injured. Not much info yet other than stated that alcohol was not involved. Most times it is.

Good morning. We arrived here up near the border yesterday to be greeted by storms that were supposed to be gone by noon, and come back in the evening. They decided to hang around until 4 and start up again by 6. We didn't get any work done and I'm hoping we can still finish up this project by Friday. I'm leading a Bible study next Saturday morning that I would hate to miss and we really don't want to drive up here for one or two more days next week. I'm probably getting anxious for nothing but we do have a lot to get done this week. We have the rented lift through today unless the church can rent it for longer. There is absolutely nothing to do around here to do when it's raining and I get bored really easily. It's not easy being me and it takes a lot of sugar. It appears that my great granddaughter Adley is doing a good job with my chickens back at home, except for the chicken that was dying of old age. It died and was freaking Adley out so she wouldn't remove it from the barn. Her mom Megan was with her and she wouldn't touch it either. Cassady finally went down to the barn and carried it back into the woods so Adley could finish closing up the barn. The drama seems to hit new levels when you are dealing with grandkids. I gotta run. This is a special day, Cheryl and I are celebrating our 54th wedding anniversary. How did she stand me that long and how did I keep from getting my head banged up with a iron pan. Wampus was here hadn't started eating last i looked.
We had a busy day yestiddy, had breakfast with the buddies from work, kind of a light turn out only 18 but we had a fine time. Then to the bank, Aldi and Kroger whew I was wore slap out by the time we got home.
Gonna get some boxes down from the she shed this morning and then some weedeating and roundupping this afternoon.
David happy anniversary to you and the missus, hope you have many more.

Currently it’s 69 degrees with a crystal blue sky. I’m savoring it as I’ve been doing my reading outside on the deck. The builders said they would be back today to work on installing the metal siding. They put the roof on in under four hours yesterday afternoon. The progress is most welcomed.
We will be heading out later for a funeral for a much beloved church member. She was a very devoted Christian with a servants heart.

Good Mornin', Folks and congratulations to David and Miss Cheryl on 54 blessed years!
I made it to men's prayer meeting this morning at 6am. Got to be down in Panama City at noon for an echocardigram that our cardiologist ordered back in June.
Got side tracked this morning, checking in a bit later than usual.
Had a busy day yesterday, made a run to get diesel and gas, checked the mail box coming home and found a note from the electric cooperative saying I was overdue on my payment. I had put the electric bills with my paperwork for renewal of vehicle tags and driver's license in September. One of my friends said I need to do an automatic withdrawal with the power coop. He was our cpa and said he started doing that with certain bills because during the 4 months of tax season he couldn't keep up with his own personal accounts. Got that squared away and was able to disk up the larger food plot. It'll take a bit of work as we didn't plant but a small part of it last season.
Noticed last evening on my walk, the pumpkin seeds were beginning to "crack" the dirt. Probably will see some green today.
E had a very small, light shower yesterday afternoon while disking the food plot, not enough to stop and there was no lightning.
Need to be getting ready to go to Panama, y'all have a good day, what's left of it.

Good Morning, AAPK Diners!
Well...rise and shine! Unfortunately, I woke up a while ago and it's like I have middle of the night insomnia. I woke around 4-ish and was open eyed and ready to start the day. All sleep left my eyes. I tried watching a Hogan's Heroes in the dark, thinking it might work on my eyes, but it had no effect.
Currently 73 here in the Missouri Ozarks with a high of 93 and heat index of 98 later today.
I have started writing a book I have put off for years. I've gotten fourteen pages in so far. It's a Kansas-Missouri border wars compilation that's an educational tool, not fiction or a novel. I decided to write it in memory of several mentors of the subject that have passed away.
I'll be working on that probably tonight. Nothing really on the agenda as a whole except maybe a little light housework. Straightening up, putting dishes away. Little stuff like that.

Good morning diners. It appears we are in for another really nice day as far as weather goes. Iy's 47 degrees now and should top off in the mid 70's. The full week looks to be about the same. WE got a lot done yesterday and are still hoping to finish up by Friday but that might be a little too hopeful. I don't want to stay through Saturday and I really don't want to come back next week. We put in 10 hours yesterday and my back didn't like that at all. Jane says all is well on the homefront. Take care and have a great Wednesday._____Dave

Another beautiful morning here at Starvation Plantation, 72 is our low temperature.
Had a safe uneventful trip to Panama yesterday, arrived at dr.'s office at noon, they did the echocardiogram and I was headed back home by 12:30. Got a tank of gas at Murphy's for $3.559 per gallon, back in Chipley it's still $3.799.
Noticed a bunch of pumpkin seeds have germinated and are showing 2 little leaves.
Had quite a wildlife show this morning, 4 deer browsing through the front and south yards, a big hawk landed between the deer for some reason and of course the hummingbirds are zooming around. Several things to attend to in town today, bible study this evening and probably a trip to Walmart after that.
Philco, your new building is really looking good.

Morning folks, 67 the low to top out around 90 sez Nikki Dee.
Wampus was here ate and left for his cool spot I reckon, he was under the back porch and the boss was watering some plants and he got a shower that he didn't want, ran up to her barn turn and gave her a big stink eye.
I'm thinking I'll get the zt out and mow but will probably wait till tomorrow.
The boss is going to the beauty parlor for a hair appointment and she likes to be here when I mow to keep a eye on my old wothless hide.
We both got alot of outside chores done yestiddy, pruning some bushes on the front and weedeating and herbicide put on some weeds. I think we're getting a little long in the tooth to be working that hard but she sez better to wear out that rust out.

Good morning diners! Just finished my first cup.
It's about 64° now, here in the Mid-Willamette Valley. Heading for a high today of 96 today.

The heat is not that hard to bear, but the smoke from all the wildfires around us is getting pretty bad. I'm kind of living with a bottle of eye drops near by. It's bad for folks with eye problems or respiratory problems. The state has issued warnings about the smoke.
Woke up this morning about 0500, the sky was red, you could smell the smoke inside the house even went with all the air conditioners on.
I just checked outside to the south, and it looks like this sky is getting brighter and it's not nearly as smoky, as it was earlier when I got up.

Y'all watch up for wildfires, the smoke and high temperatures! Stay cool, stay hydrated, and breathe good air!

Good morning. Phil, the shed looks good. It's about the same colors as the church we are siding. We had a good day yesterday and should be able to finish it up tomorrow if nothing comes up to mess with us. Yesterday my bank notified me that my card was compromised by someone out of country trying to by sandals at a Foot Locker. I'm glad I have enough cash being 4 hours from home buying meals. I'll have to wait until next week to get another one or skip it and go back to cash. It appears that all is still well on the home front. Have a good Thursday.____Dave

Just realized the days are getting shorter, still dark outside and it's almost 6am.
Got several "in town" items taken are of yesterday plus some housework. Today is workday, looks like another day up in the 90s. No big chance of rain in forecast, maybe a stray afternoon shower when the sea breeze comes inland in the afternoon.
Heard the local newscaster using a catchy name for today, "pre-Friday".
Need to pour my 1st cup, y'all have a productive day!

Fair day here in Dixie I reckon; mid 80's and thunderstorms late this evening.
Nothing planned for the day but clearing out a sink full of dishes and at least 3 loads of laundry.
I'm debating on going to the old Radio Shack affiliate in town and see about upgrading the sound system in my car.
Been thinking about that for awhile. Base model car and so is the sound. I could do the install myself,
if I just knew what would work the best. But I think I'll let them do it . . .

This morning has a definite late summer feel to it, temp in the 60s and gloomy with a steady rain falling. I am having coffee on the patio and listening to the thunder rumble, raindrops hitting the tree leaves, while the House Wrens scold me for intruding on "their" territory.

Decided to go ahead and grill some chicken breasts while I am out here, and we will have for our lunch later. My wife will use a few chunks to put in some dumplings she just made.

Glad I got the grass mowed yesterday. Time to turn the chicken.....

Morning folks, not much left of it but we hit the we ground running this morning. 70 the low topping out around 90.
Wampus was here and seem to be back on his feed.
The zt it calling my name, we've already put don't some mulch and watered the plants and fed critters ate breakfast and rested up from all that, so I'm about to get started with the mowing.
