Yesterday afternoon, this advertising pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my general, advertising, pocket knife accumulation. This advertising pocket knife was NOT the reason that I bought the group or lot of pocket knives. It is a U.S.A., one blade, one tang stamp, 3 1/2" closed, "dimpled" pins or rivets, tipped bolsters, advertising pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "U.S.A." The main handle side says, "PEPSI COLA (written) 5¢" The other handle side says nothing, it is blank. The main blade is out of alignment with the spring. The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does NOT have an opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in FAIR condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off.

Some really great knives in the thread.

I don't really collect advertising knives but have come across quite a few in my collecting efforts. Here are two little knives that I have managed to keep because they have a personal note to them. One has my last name incorporated in the ad and the other is from a car dealership in my hometown. I believe this dealership was gone before I was born in 1955 and it must have been a small business since the population of Holley N.Y. has hovered around 1700 for as long as I can remember. I do know some family members of the dealership and some people that remember it being in business.

I think it is a modern plastic. Interesting the family name is spelled with a V Padvano (old Italian) and the familly now uses the Paduono spelling.

Here's an interesting knife I received in an auction lot last year. During the late 1920's and early 1930's Red Wing issued a boys' boot with a knife pocket and a a knife. I found the quote pasted below from German Red Wing dealer on Facebook. There were also two photos of knives in the FB comments. They both had jigged bone handle covers. Guess this one with its red celluloid handle is an odd ball. Unfortunately the main blade on this one is very worn and there is no stamp remaining in the tang, if there ever was one. It puts a different twist on the term, boot knife.

A classic 877 Irish Setter silhouette paired with Black Klondike leather and a knife-pocket on the side. This very rare release was a reminiscence to a boot that was originally released in 1925 as a boy’s style and also was called „Billie Boot“ after the owner’s son Billie Sweasy. It also came with a knife pocket and an actual knife with it! The latter re-issue lacked the knife. However, we do not own the actual 1925 model (that was made till the mid 30’s), but we do own the knife to the original boot that we’re showing here! What a cool memorabilia that we’ve given a prominent place in our archive!"

Not old, but definitely advertising. Being from the South, I not only “had” to have these knives but, I had a sudden, strange craving for a R.C. Cola!

Have to go down stairs and dig up the Curtis Baby Ruth knife, it’s an oval shield Remington in gorgeous shape. I’m sure Nestle/Ferrara would not give you a pocket knife no matter how many cases you bought. Just like you would not be able to buy a new Jonnie walker Lionel train car.

Here's a PETERS SHOES giveaway knife. The company was started in 1892 in St. Louis. St. Louis was a major shoe manufacturer then, with Samuels, and Buster Brown and others. This piece is 3-1/4" with iron bolsters and brass liners, no stamp, maybe Colonial, Imperial? Nice little Easy Open for a boy. Any interest, PM me, J.O'.

Very recently, this multi-tool, advertising, fob or key ring, pattern or style of pocket knife, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. This pocket knife now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. But, it did turn out to be a keeper. It did get added to my general, advertising, pocket knife accumulation. It is a SCHRADE, two blades, one tool (a file), one tang stamp, 2 7/8" closed (not including the bail), all metal, multi-tool, advertising, fob or key ring, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "SCHRADE (over) WALDEN (over) N.Y. U.S.A." The main handle side says, “Lilly” (written). The other handle side has a symbol or logo for a medical field. The main blade does have a SOFT half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade does have a SOFT half stop. The secondary blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The secondary blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The tool functions properly, as designed. This pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT require any cleaning at all.
I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

The main blade front tang stamp says, "U.S.A." The main handle side says, “INSURANCE SERVICE AGENCY, INC. - PH. (219) 769-8466” The other handle side says nothing, it is blank. "Most likely" made by COLONIAL or "possibly" made by The Ideal (because of the "dimpled" pins or rivets). The main blade does have a GOOD half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off.

It did get added to my general, advertising, pocket knife accumulation. It is a MADE IN USA, one blade, three tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener with a screwdriver tip, and a file), one blade tang stamp, two tool stamps, 2 1/4” closed, all metal, multi-tool, advertising, fob or key ring, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, “PAT. (over) PEND.” The cap lifter or bottle opener with a screwdriver tip, front stamp says, "MADE (over) IN (over) USA" The file front stamp says, “PAT. (over) PEND.” The main handle side says nothing, it is blank. The other handle side says, "THE BRENEISER TOBACCO CO." The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does NOT have an opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. The tools open and close without any issues. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT require any cleaning at all.
I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
