Can anyone tell by these pictures, whether this Knife is gassing or has gas and been buffed??

Re: 2006 Bulldog
My vote Lyle is that it is off gassing. It hasn’t been for very long from the look of it, but I’m guessing that that metal won’t just polish up and that would tell me for sure. That would be my first step is to use Simichrome or something similar to clean the metal and see if it’s pitting and set deep or just polishes off.

I agree with SSK that it is in the early stages of gassing. The pins and bolsters on the off side have the look of a gasser. And just knowing how many Bulldogs do gas would make me wary.

I would pry those scales off, in order to save the knife from further damage.

Re: 2006 Bulldog
I do believe that one sign of off gassing is present. I see gaps between handle covers and bolsters. Shrinkage of the handle covers often precedes total disaster.
