Leon Payne/Hank Williams song.
Any fans of Old Hank would know the song "They'll Never Take Her Love From Me". Leon Payne wrote it in 1948. Hank's version has all the pathos and heartache that can be put into a song. I guess by today's standards, Hank was a little primitive, but his voice fits this song perfectly. His pitch is perfect and that moaning emotion has never been equaled. Wish I could post the song, but I don't how. Maybe someone can. O'.

I’ll have to dig out my copy and listen to that. (I have a boxed set of CDs that supposedly contains everything ever recorded by Hank, including even old radio shows). One of my favorites is Lost Highway, written by Leon Payne. Hank’s cover was a hit but a lot of other artists have also done it.

I don't think ever recorded or wrote a bad song. Even the one he gave Faron Young but never recorded himself. Legend has it that Hank gave Faron "Goin' Steady" and then left with Faron's date.
I'm not really familiar with or have forgotten "They'll Never Take Her Love From Me", but I will look it up.

Heres a live radio performance recording of They’ll Never Take Her Love From Me. At the end Hank says Leon Payne wrote it.

Thank you, Ken. Another good one from "Luke the Drifter".
