Rehandles, Camillus Riders of the Silver Screen (2)

Hello all:

Here are two Camillus Riders of the Silver Screen collector's series (1991) knives that Herb rehandled for me, one last year and one this month. Being slightly larger than a Camillus 23, these beefy knives offer a nice-size canvas (4 1/4") for a bit of experimentation when it comes to new covers.

The bottom knife is now covered in Crazy Fiber Burl that I bought from Atlas. The top knife is now in XGrip Red/Blue Infused from KnifeKits.com. I'm quite happy with both. The XGrip proved to be duller when finished than I thought it would be when I saw the slabs online. It does have a great color/pattern mix, but some of the vividness shown here is due to the proximity of the camera flash. But, then again, I think I may be subconsciously comparing it to Kirinite which, to me, is a very vivid/bright acrylic. In any event, I'm happy to try some new materials. These will be in my pocket, not on a shelf, so they meet my needs 100%.

As usual, Herb's work was fantastic.

OC, I'm sure you'll come up with something great should you choose to do a rehandle on that Silver Screen that you have. I'm thinking that one of these "Silver Screens" might look good in Kirinite True Blood, left, or Lava Flow, right.
