Premier Series

The Premier Series was started in 2002 by our old buddy Clarence Risner. These knives sport nickel/silver bolsters and liners. S & M, New York tang stamp. Premier shield. Goldenroot bone handles, some have match striker pulls and pinched or lined bolsters. All blade steel is 420HC. 400 were made of each pattern. There was suppose to be 2 knives per year made but to date there are only 9 knives.
The 1st knife is a 4" single spring Muskrat #042125

2nd, #51 Trapper 3 1/2" closed

3rd, #041802 Lg Coke Bottle, 5 1/8" closed

4th, #043163, Railsplitter Stockman, 3 3/4" closed

5th, #042171, Lg. Barlow, 4 7/8" closed

Very nice Dave,the Premiers are some of my favorites! Clarence is a great person,he always makes time for all my questions and has been a great help with my Schatt & Morgan Series collection! I hear that Queen is having problems with the upcoming edition of the lockback Whittler, very hard pattern to reproduce.

When I spoke to Clarance last time I thought he said that a sleeveboard pattern was the next one up in the Premier line. He seemed a little frustrated by the length of time between offerings.

I've managed to assemble the whole line and it's one of my favorites. I only wish that some steel other than 420 was picked...how sweet would 1095 be?

I was told the next knife was to be a Humpback Whittler, lockback or not I'm not sure. Queen has had the example knife for a looooong time but no word yet. Clarence said he ask for his example knife back if they couldn't produce it he would get the Germans too.

As far as user steel goes I've been after Clarence to get some SFO's in the S&M line (like the Harness Jacks) made in 1095 but no luck yet. Personally I think the Premier line with the upgrade in hardware is pretty much a collectors line, so I don't see that happening.
But that is just my opinion.

I wouldn't expect to see them change in mid-stream either but, hey, a guy can dream can't he?

I'm sure a change to 1095 would be something that a lot of collectors would be very happy about.

What year are these from? On Risner's Schatt & Morgan web site he has an English Jack in the 2008 Series 18 but it's a bare end Jack. Where are the ones you've posted here available?

That #7 English Jack has a 2005 tang stamp but I was thinking `06.
I would suggest contacting Clarence either by email or phone. If he doesn't have any he can tell you ho might.
I don't know why he doesn't have them listed on his site.

Not even the man who is having them made knows.
He has even asked Queen to drop the Humpback & move on to a different pattern if they can't make the Whittler.
It has been over 2 years now!!

I guess things must be busy at Queen Cutlery and thats a good thing. The wait for collectors is tough to take though. Maybe our resident Queen employee will chime in with his take on the situation (hint, hint)! Its been a while since we've heard from him here.

Well, I bought that #7 Sm. English Jack for myself for Christmas. I was up in the middle of the night (again) and cruising AAPK when it suddenly hit me to try SMKW. Don't ask where that inspiration came from but I checked their Schatt & Morgan line and cha ching, there it was in all it's alluring beauty. Took me a good 30 minutes to decide to pull the trigger but I'm glad I did. That'sa nicea knife.

an update on the long awaited 10th edition of the premier series - this is from an email i just received from clarence risner:

I SHOULD BE GETTING THE LOCKBACK, HUMPBACK WHITTLER NEXT MONTH. AM VERY
ANXIOUS TO RECEIVE IT. THIS KNIFE PATTERN ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH, HAS NOT
