It is 78° at daylight, the weather machine is showing 97% humidity, the 'skeeters are fierce. Sounds like a delightful day for workday, not! It is what it is, yesterday we got an additional 0.6 inches in the gauge around noon.
Chris, hope the weather doesn't get in the way of y'alls trip. Eldest daughter is driving down from Monroe, GA on Saturday, son and grandson are traveling Sunday morning this direction as is our school teacher daughter to go to church with me on Father's Day. Hopefully Arthur won't get in the way! Everyone needs to pay attention to the weather the next few day, flash flood watch they are saying for the next few days.

Wampus came home with his hongery on.
Resting up is the order of the day, I got my chain saw out and cut limbs off the old dying hawthorn tree and drug the limbs to the burn pile, then mowed the grass, to say I was wore slap out yestiddy afternoon is a understatement. My chainsaw just hums but I had hearing protection anyway.
I just love it when things come together.

Ike the cousin that we had the celebration of life for when I was up there, his sister had a tornado real close to her house. Don't have anything more than that, I did see on the news that one hit a car museum it Effingham, thankfully there no reports of fatalities in that area.

Minnesota Dave I feel your pain. My truck needed new calipers, rotors, pads, brake hoses, wheel bearings and a oil change and service, a little over 1500 bucks tax included which amounted to $136.86. the Governor has to get his you know.

It's been raining here big time this morning. My phone says there's a flash flood warning for my area right now. It's already come a gully washer and now the rain is coming down again. The good news is I have no place I need to go so I'm not going to worry one bit about crossing the creek anytime soon. This, folks, is one of the great benefits of being retired.
I'm gearing up to have a garage built and signed the contract for it yesterday. It will have three bays and will be detached from my dwelling. Work is set to begin (hopefully) in a week. It will be pole construction with metal roof and siding. This is a project I've wanted to have done for several years. I feel very blessed to finally be able to get it underway. I'll share some photos when there's something to show.

Looking like we dodged a weather bullet so far! Less than half inch of rain overnight and only a few sprinkles yesterday. Our gauge is only graduated in tenths of an inch so guessing we had 0.47 or 0.48 inches last night while we were under another tornado warning. Last night about 10:30 the 2nd tornado ran the same path as the one earlier in the week, south of us. Can y'all imagine getting almost 24 inches of rain? Folks in Louisiana are having a rough time.
Had a productive workday yesterday, made some more progress on the "deer proof" garden spot.
Have a 9:30 cardiologist appointment in Panama City. Rain this morning is west of us heading east along I-10, shouldn't create too much of a problem. May get to mow tomorrow.

Good morning. Phil, I'm glad the nasty weather didn't hit you or your family that were heading your way. We have 43 degrees and are expecting some rain with temps in the low 60's. The shop called me yesterday to inform me that they had ordered some wrong parts for my truck and the right ones added expense and that I needed additional parts. The labor is still the same but parts have pushed up my cost about another $500. It was supposed to be done yesterday but the additional parts stalled it until sometime today. I bought the truck from my son and he told me he has never had front end work done before I bought it, so pretty much everything under there probably is due. We have a full day planned for today at work and the additional flooring for the next job is supposed to arrive today so that will mess up progress on the kitchen project some. They promised us that this load would come in a box truck instead of an open bed truck. I guess their couple thousand-dollar screw-up was a teaching lesson, but we have had, in the past, several thousand-dollar farmhouse sinks come broken and they had to replace them, so the lesson might not hold. Home Depot seems to have some difficulty figuring out how to package and deliver materials, but they replace what they break. I have no idea how they stay in business. I have to go check my skunk traps and get to work. Have a great Friday.______Dave

MG that is not a par 3 but it is a private family driving range, there is no telling how many golf balls is in that field, and i actually used to shag them when I was practicing heavy, but the son ,grandson and newphews not so much.

Good morning. It appears to be a decent day ahead for us weather-wise. I think Jane wants to go to a Grad party about an hour away so that might happen, otherwise not much on the docket for the day. My skunk trap was tripped and something tried to get the chicken bones out by digging all around the trap without success. I haven't checked yet this AM. I have one old chicken that determined to stay away from the roosters and bossy hens and wants to stay outside and I'm hoping to keep her away from night time visitors like skunks and raccoons. Until I catch her and find a safe place in the chicken barn where she can still get outside, she is pretty vulnerable. I got my truck back from the shop yesterday and it drives and handles amazing. It's a nice truck disguised as an old junker. It has about $10,000 worth of tools, $1500 worth of tires and a $2500 suspension under it and is probably worth, maybe a thousand on a good day. I'm hoping that it is the last truck I'll ever need until I actually quit carpentry. Then it will pull my Aluma Craft Deep C fishing boat that is stored upside down behind the barn to the lake around the corner The boat hasn't been wet for 30 to 40 years. Maybe someday....Have a wonderful weekend.____Dave

Dave 30to 40 years since you had that boat in the water ! Going to have to drive up there and get you to get that boat out and see if it still floats . Then go fishing . Good Mornin', Folks.
Slept in this morning and right now it is a beautiful, clear morning, 72° without a cloud in the sky for now. Yesterday I had an easy trip to and from Panama City, no rain. No rain, but after dinner it began to rain and put another 0.6 inches in the gauge. Was hoping to mow a little but too wet. Over night another 0.2 inches, it's adding up! Maybe I'll get the front yard done before the children get in for Father's Day. Seems like we just finished that part a few days ago!
Cardiologist said things seemed okay, just to be sure, he scheduled an echocardigram out in August.
There were 2 fatal accidents related to the rain on the highways in the area.
Ripster, I have experienced just what you are saying about a boat and fishing. Before my dad passed in 1979 we would fish now and then, had a great little fishing boat. My day job at the school, our cows, row crops and pinetrees took away the desire to use the boat. We didn't quit fishing with the children on the farm but we quit using the boat. I tried to give it away a few years ago, no takers. It had a 55 hp 3 cylinder Johnson outboard on it and sat out behind the barn and deteriorated. Another regret. Dave, get the boat out and go fishing!

Wampus was on the steps awaiting breakfast and ate with gusto.
We've had a black bear spotted in the area, the young males seem to roam through every now and then, kinda hope they don't start homesteading.the dang coyotes are bad enough, they were having a howling party at bedtime last night.
Trash needs to get to the dump and a trip to TSC for woodpecker grub. I'll try to get some more roundup sprayed this afternoon.

We're heading back to the Rochester NY area to see family. The secret is my grandson is flying into Buffalo where
we'll be picking him up and having wings at the original wing joint - The Anchor Bar.
After lunch we drive to my moms house and she will meet another great grandchild. My sister and brother will
show up, I'm sure.
Now, one more thing.....I'm bringing fishing poles and have reserved a boat so my brother and I will take my grandson
(now 16) fishing on Sodus Bay, NY. Gonna be a memory we won't soon forget.
