Blade Replacement

Hello, Has anyone ever dealt with case on replacing a blade? I have a like new 79", 1 dot stockman that has a cleanly broke off sheepsfoot. anyone know if they will replace the blade and/or what know what they would charge for it? Only knife i have with sentimental value. Im sure it may not be worth the effort? just curious, RED

The pattern has likely been retooled since 1979, so current production blades may not fit it. To know for sure you need to ask Case. Go to www.caseknives.com, scroll down to the bottom where it says “Warranty and Repair”. Open that, read and follow the instructions on filling out the repair request, and send it along with pictures of your knife to Case. They will respond in a few days telling you whether or not they can replace the blade, and the estimated cost.

I’ve used Case Repair several times and found their work to be excellent and the cost reasonable. How long it takes depends on their backlog of work at the time. If they can’t replace it, look for a donor knife with a good sheepfoot to replace yours.

appreciate it, but unless Case lets me send them the donor blade with it, wont do me much good cause i sure cant replace it, RED

You and I or others can speculate, but you won't know whether Case can fix it
unless you ask. If they say they can't fix it then move on to next steps. There are many fine mechanics here who can put a new blade in it, even some who may possibly have a blade for it. I doubt any can do it for less than, or better than Case can.

Take pics of the tang stamps and knife overall and email to Case per the instructions above. I filled out the form and mailed ($11) a Barlow (62009 1/2 dating to 1982) to Case. First I received a vague email from Case that was riddled with factual errors. Then Case returned it with a form letter feeding me some fertilizer that the pattern had changed, blah, blah, blah. Waste of time, money, and tooth enamel. Others have suggested calling first. Bottom line: Call or email. Don't expect quality customer service otherwise. GL!
