Is this a "real" Robeson stockman?
Robeson is a brand that has eluded me for some reason, probably only have 4 or 5 Robesons. One of the 1st ones I got was a Robeson made by another mfg, Charlie informed me of that fact. Am I correct in thinking this one was also made by some other maker as it does not have the pattern numbers? The tang stamp lines up with a very old date but the knife just doesn't look that old. I like the feel of it, it's 4" closed length, everything walks and talks, I'd carry it in a heartbeat if I wasn't carrying a Queen.

I've seen a few of those. I feel it is a genuine article.

If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Robeson made that pattern in black and all metal handled versions. Totally legitimate.
I have heard lots of people praise the steel in that particular knife.
I think they made them in an attempt to compete economically with other manufacturers. They were made in the period just before their demise.
