Re: Todays scripture...
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land , and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:3-5

Re: Todays scripture...
Micah 6:8 NIV
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Re: Todays scripture...
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
(Thought)
The part of returning to the Lord, means you were once with the Lord. Sometimes, we sadly, stray away from God and start living according to the flesh. But if we forsake that wickedness and our wicked thoughts and return to the Lord he will have mercy upon us and ABUNDANTLY pardon our transgressions. That sounds like hope to me. That sounds like good news to me. That sounds like a reason to be joyful we serve such a great and merciful God!

Re: Todays scripture...
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead , and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Re: Todays scripture...
Yesterday while I was walking the dog through a large, grassy field, I stooped down and picked a small cluster of reddish/ orange wildflowers. They are some of my favorites although I can't tell you their actual scientific name. I gazed at them in admiration and held them to my nose to smell the sugar-like scent the blossoms emit. Then I got to thinking how quickly the little blossoms are going to droop and wither now that I plucked them from the ground. I removed them from their source of life and strength.
It made me think of the verse in John 15.5 where Jesus said
" I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." Just like those wildflowers, if we remove ourselves from the main vine (Jesus), we'll wither and die.
Just like those beautiful wildflowers, as long as they are connected to their main vine they will live and produce more flowers. Let me encourage you today to stay connected to the true vine, keep close to Jesus. Cut off any besetting sins and habits that separate you from communion with your God. Stay connected to Jesus. Peace to you.
