<CLOSED Johnnie Fain Memorial auction- WARDS Equal End

Post by orvet »

Welcome to the December 7, 2009 Johnnie Fain Estate knife auctions. If all goes well there will be time to get the payments made and the knives shipped to you before Christmas, for those of you who would like to give one of Johnnie’s knives for a Christmas gift. This will be the last of the Johnnie Fain knife auctions

Johnnie was a friend of all on AAPK as well as an AAPK Moderator. Johnnie passed away unexpectedly in April of this year. I am helping Johnnie’s widow Annettee by auctioning off many knives from Johnnie’s collection. AAPK members have been most generous in helping Annettee by bidding liberally in these auctions. Any member of AAPK can bid on these knives.

This auction is for a Wards Equal End Jack

MAKER: Wards
PATTERN: Equal end jack
BLADE: Spear & pen
CLOSED LENGTH: 3-3/8 inches
HANDLES: Jigged composition
FRONT TANG STAMP: WARDS/MADE IN U.S.A.
REAR TANG STAMP: None
CONDITION: Good
DAMAGE: Some pocket wear, bolsters appear to have been buffed, a little side play to both blades, some grinder marks on both sides of the spear blade.
AGE: U/K
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA
BLADE WEAR: From what I can tell blade hear is about 20% or less.
SNAP: Good snap, except the spear blade is a little weaker on the snap closed.
ADDITIONAL INFO: This is by no means a perfect knife, but it would be a great user or a good one for a collection until you can trade it out for a better one.

This auction will end at 6 PM, Pacific Daylight Time, Sunday December 13, 2009 if there have been no bids within 2 hours of that time. If there have been bids, the auction will continue until such time as there are no bids for 2 consecutive hours.
At that time the high bidder will be declared the winner.
Payment is to be by money order. Upon receipt of payment the knife will be shipped.

The payment price will be the winning bid plus $9.00 for shipping via Priority Mail with insurance and delivery confirmation.
The knife will be well packaged to prevent damage.

Feel free to PM or email me with any questions.

Thank you and happy bidding,
Dale

NOTE: I will combine shipping for those who win more than one item.
