Oh, and the price was right, too $22. Now tell me you wouldn't have bought it. Some may be jealous that they didn't find it first

50s KABAR Fish knife
I found this old beauty yesterday and just could not resist. It's not the typical knife I seek, but it called out to me. It is in great condition for its age. Sometimes you just like the knife for whatever reason

I would have bought it. Does it have celluloid handle material?

That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.

Awesome find and a steal of a deal.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Nice find! I like how it has a groove on the scaler side for access to the scaler blade.

Yes it's celluloid, discoloring isn't gassing out, somehow got oil under the scales
It's pretty nice

That small rectangle is a sharpening stone with the groove for sharpening fish hooks.

Re: 50s KABAR Fish knife
The mark on the blade indicates the knife was made 1945-1947 or 1948. The hook remover on the scaler blade has been broken and re-profiled. I am one who would have left it in the store due to it's poor condition. Near mint ones can be had for under fifty bucks.
