Rare CASE XX ? Production run of 501

Hi all,
I have a 1986 Case #6249 Copperhead made for a City fire station that has on blade 501 made and the bostler
is numbered.
I have tried to research the production runs of case limted edition knifes and have found none with a odd number production run. They all are 100, 150, 500, 1000
Etc.
I have even asked AI and it is not aware of any odd numbered runs from case.

Sometimes it's hard to find information about a particular SFO. If it's stamped "1 of 501" and your number falls in that range, my guess is it's correct. Pictures and a Google Image Search might help, but not always.

That's probably #501 of X amount, beit 1000, 5000, or however many.

Take some clear in-focus pictures of the knife including all stamps and markings on it. Send those to Case www.caseknives.com and ask for the information you are seeking. (Scroll down to the bottom of their web site to where it says “contact us”). Case may or may not have records for the knife. They make literally thousands of special factory orders and commemorative knives.

If the question is did Case make other commemorative or club knives in uneven numbers, my one of 75 four blade Peanut, 6420, is one example. While 75 seems a little less odd than 501, 75 is not an even number. I call it scarce, not rare, even though, as far as I know, there are no other four blade 6420 Case Peanuts.

If it is a knife from the Parker ownership era, he likely would do a run where he kept the 1st one for himself. So make 501, and 1 goes to him, and 500 goes to the SFO order. Parker was big on having serial # 001 knives for himself.

The OP says the knife is from 1986. James Parker did not own Case in 1986. He bought Case in 1989 and owned the company for less than 2 years before declaring bankruptcy.
