Oh, I picked this up at a local flea market, someone tried too hard to clean off the rust and I can't make out the stamping(( But I can definitely see the Sheffield mark and the tang itself is almost flush with the spring, it's clearly not very new. Sorry for the links, but I still can't insert non-striped photos, I tried and again without success

I wonder what the practical purpose of such an open tang, with a visible gap between the blade and the spring, was? Garden knives typically have an extended front side of the handle to increase the blade's support under lateral load, as example on the Tina and the Victorinox Floral
