It’s been years since I sold off my wire jack collection. In fact, it’s been almost that long since I’ve seen any of the large size for sale at a reasonable price. I’ve always considered the Schrade wire jacks as the most innovative knife design. Here ya go

I Thought That I Had Previously Posted This Pocket Knife Here…I Didn’t.

A couple or a few years ago, there was a seller on eBay who had a large quantity of wire jack pocket knives with different blade styles AND from a wide variety of manufacturers. I am by no means an expert on wire jack pocket knives. I figured he was able to obtain quite a few wire jack frames, and assembled them with different styles of blades that had different tang stamps. Most of these "modified" wire jack pocket knives, have brass or bronze pivot pins. I waited for, and finally found one. A wire jack pocket knife WITHOUT any tang stamp, and I bought it. It measures 3 1/4" closed and 5 3/4" open. This pocket knife does have a WEAK half stop. This pocket knife does have an OK opening snap. This pocket knife does have a GOOD closing snap. This pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT need cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

I have not been looking to buy, ANY form of wire-handle pocket knives or utensils for a while now. But, I could not resist buying a wire-handle trio that I found. Three different wire-handle items, with three different stamps. I am posting the two wire-handle pocket knives here. The third item, a wire-handle fork, is posted in the “Vintage Tool Kit Knives & Folding Eating Sets” sub-forum.

These are the two wire-handle pocket knives.

1. Pictures #1 to #5.
A wire-handle pocket knife, with a cap lifter or bottle opener. It is one third of a Girl Scout utensil kit. It does have the dark green colored spacer/blade guard. It measures 3 1/4” closed, and 5 3/4” open. The blade/tool stamp says, “STAINLESS (over) STEEL (over) GEO SCHRADE (over) KNIFE CO. (over) PAT. 1-27-42 (over) B’PORT, CT.” The main blade does NOT have a blade pull. The main blade does have a GOOD half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT require any cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

A large wire-handle hawkbill pruner pocket knife. It does have the red colored spacer/blade guard. It measures 4” closed, and 6 3/4” open. The main blade front tang stamp says, “GEO SCHRADE (over) KNIFE CO. (over) PAT. 1-27-42 (over) PAT. PENDING (over) B’PORT, CT.” The main blade does have a WEAK half stop. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a NASTY closing snap. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
