Vintage Remington Scout Knives

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Remington scout RS3333 with what looks like black bone handles. Wondering if anyone else has any with this color bone.

I have several with those handles , they are actually synthetic and were designed to look like stag . Great knife !

Dad had it marked in his Grim book as rough. I finally found it definitely rough the green sheath is not as rough as the knife.

Dimitri, thats a rare one IMHO. Nice etch. I’ve seen a lot of Boy Scout versions but that’s the first Girl Scout version I’ve seen. ::tu:: ::tu::

Still have a bunch of Remington fixed blades. Think there are about 40 of them left. From rough like that one to very fine examples.
