Help Identify Pattern

Here is a pattern I have not seen before. A Union Cut Co/Kabar Serpentine Stag Scissor Jack. I purchased this because to me it is odd seeing a scissor as the main with a pen blade secondary. I have seen scissors as part of a camp knife, lobster patterns and multi-use patterns, but never as a primary in a stag jack knife. Looking for opinions and information.
Any help on this would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Yes, at first glance the knife itself looks very strange with the scissors blade. I find it hard to believe the scissors are original but stranger things have happened.

I agree that the knife has been built from parts, but it was likely not done in deception. I imagine that it had a broken main blade, and someone decided to make it useful with the parts that they had.
I personally like a knife that has been given a second chance at usefulness!
You can see that the pivot pin doesn't match, which is the giveaway.
I would put it in my pocket and use it, if it were mine!

Thanks Reverend. That is what I was thinking. It looks like a period or close to period blade replacement. To me the choice of using the scissor makes it a more interesting piece. Whoever did it back in the day did it right. Fit and finish is really good. It’s interesting that it looks like it was designed that way. Closed or open, it looks uncommon but right.

It’s a great piece in many ways. More interesting after the blade replacement in my opinion because to me it’s a period quality repair using a not so common replacement tool.

While I am pretty sure it’s a replaced main blade, I always like to believe that there’s a chance you run into a pattern not seen before…. You are correct: Stranger things have happened
