I scored my first CASE"S STAINLESS fish knife last night, but the handles are badly decayed.
Does the CASE warranty replace them?

Re: CASE warranty regarding decayed celluloid handles?
Based on what people have posted over the years in the Case forum, gernerally Case does not replace the handles under warranty in that situation, but they may do it for a fee. On the other hand, several people have posted that Case did replace handles for them under warranty. So they seem to be inconsistent.
Can you post pics of the knife?

Maybe, but you need to ask Case, not me.
(The warranty says “for the life of the owner” - pretty sure thats intended to be the original owner). Understand that if they replace them it will be with their modern-day handle material and the shield will be glued on. It won’t be the original period-correct shield either. If for some reason they can’t replace the covers they may offer you a new knife instead.
You need to download, fill out and submit the warranty repair claim form from the www.caseknives.com web site. Scroll to the bottom and click on warranty.

It depends on the knife. They don't have handles for the old knives that they no longer make.

Case redid my 1974 yellow Doctor's Knife about 12 years ago.
No shield needed. The cost was appropriate with good
results. It took about 3-4 weeks for turn around time.

Case replaced the evaporating (disappearing) yellow handles an my Tested stockman which I believe to have been an 18.
There was a modest charge to which I did not object.
