So...I bought a lot of 9 knives on eBay for about $20 (plus shipping). It arrived today, in a Roi-Tan cigar box...

Most of it is junk, as I thought it might be. There is a real pearl knife, which looked to have an unusual tang stamp--or else (I thought) it's just dirt. Nope, not dirt, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is supposed to be. I'm guessing the knife is foreign, and it's not the greatest quality. Oh well...

HOWEVER...the largest knife caught my eye. Bone handles, looks original, but no telling what, if anything, is on the tang.

Turns out, it's well built, feels good in the hand. Used, but a lot of blade left. Cleaned up the main blade tang--something "Ville", maybe. Hmmm, interesting. Cleaned up the secondary tang...jackpot! Schatt & Morgan. The photos show just what I saw. I've done no cleaning, only used a pencil on the tangs.

The knife is just about 4" long. The bone looks solid--you can bet I'm pleased with it!

Can see why you're well pleased with it. Beautiful example of a S & M.

Wow! That's a fine knife, the S&M. I can also see the fire in the little pen knife's handle. ::tu::
Not near as exciting is my mail call, a 'wannabe' Remington. Reading the Remington forum I believe I've learned that this tang stamp is legitimate, the little knife is an authentic Remington but made by another mfg. The tang is supposed to be early 1930s for a few years. The straight line stamp was on the lesser grade knives according to one post. The handle material is pyromite and the tip bolsters are NS. The pen blade is very lazy but the clip walks and talks with authority as it moves past the 1/2 stop.
Well full of lent.

Any suggestion as to who made this one for Remington?

KENT was not a cutlery company, but a brand name used by
A. KASTOR & BROTHERS, and the CAMILLUS CUTLERY COMPANY.

Yes sir
I know Camillus made a bunch of different lines, like Seneca, Syracuse, Fairmount, Cornwall. All the same thin handles and tipped bolsters

A little TLC and the little case should look good.
Not sure about the Robeson? Is it one made by another mfg?

I haven't been on this thread in a long time and I've been missing some really nice knives you guys are finding. I just won these on the latest Voyles auction and they came in the mail a couple of days ago.

First picture is a lot of SAK's and this is so silly, I bid on these because my brother was always a big Houston Oilers fan so I know he will like the one in the middle. I'm really excited about the Sear Craftsman Camping Knife. It is a 50 year Commenrative and appears to have never been used.
