CVA Knife Italy

Post by DadDeac »

I have a CVA Italy knife with a curved blade. It has something resembling a screw in the end of the handle. See attachment ( image ).
Does anyone know what this is & what it’s for?
I assume that is brass on both ends of the wooden handle. Does that sound right?
Does anyone know what kind of wood this handle is made of?
Anyone know approximately what year this knife was made?
I got this knife from a flea market.
Thank you
