Buck 313

Post by MrJW »

Good morning/day everyone,
I had previously posted this knife in the buck section but only one reply. I just had a couple questions about it as I'm not looking for a value or anything like that. First is obvious and that's the words Cheney Bigelow etched in the blade. I read where Cheney Bigelow was a factory in Massachusetts I believe that did considerable work for the military during World War 2. Next question is the actual dating for this knife model. Can anyone shed some insight? Thank you in advance.

Sincerely, MrJW

The model 313 was in production from 1972-1985. All of them were made by Camillus. There were minor changes that would narrow down the date of manufacture but they are too complicated for me to put in writing. Mostly regarding tang stamp placement and nail nick cutouts in the handle.

When I touch it, it gives forth a sound.
It’s got wires that vibrate and give music.
What can this thing be that I’ve found?”
