I don't really know much about the brand but Goins says that they operated fron 1865 to 1975.

Re: Dating hen and roosters?
the way to date hen and rooster knives is just like alot of knives
by the markings on their tangs.
the attached is a scan from the book "official price guide to collectors knives"
the 15th edition. great book.
before i bought this book awhile ago
i had crude sketching i used. LOL! here is a link to the book.im not saying this is where to buy it or anything just showing you the book. this is one book well worth it.if anybody else has it and agrees please let me know.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/037572 ... 5716E2WQD5
when you click on scan it should come up nice and big.
their was so much info on the 2 pages i blocked them out
crudely just for the scan.i respect copyrights.
its just a quick scan but i made sure it was nice and legible.
until you have a book save this file to your harddrive for
future reference.
ONCE YOU CLICK ON SCAN YOU MAY HAVE
TO MOVE PIC AROUND A LITTLE TO SEE TANG STAMPS.FYI.
hope i helped folks. and as always read knife books!::tu::
