Curt; I can't find it in any of my knife books but I will take a guess and say that it may be a piece that was made in England. Try looking up World knives Ltd.. They might have some mention of the company or maybe they can lead you into the right direction for info.

Hi Curt,

A nice little two bladed W R sleeveboard penknife, guessing made C 1950s-1970s ?, John Clarke & Son used the "William Rodgers" name and the catchy "I CUT MY WAY" ( "cheese knife logo") extensively.

Clarke's other marks were "N.E.V.A" "EXPRESS" & used on razors "THE RING" (chain logo). John Clarke and Son "William Rodgers", in the 1970s the firm manufactured it's products in Sheffield, it's works were at the top of Garden St, above Ibbersons "new" Washington Works.

not sure about the age of manufacture but must have been earlier than the 50s since i have one with a broken backspring that is crocus polished but has a composition handle i ruined by trying to clean with acetone.---Hipower

Here's mine. It has the "I Cut My Way" on the tang. Overall, it seems quite old. I think the handle may be "French Ivory". You can see the lines in the close up. Gotta get a better camera, my close ups are done by holding a magnifying glass in front of my IPod!
I picked this up yesterday for five bucks, so I probably didn't get too ripped off!

Pattern is a sleeveboard pen knife, handles are imitation ivory and blades are over 50% down. Age is hard to say. Might be pre WW II or up to 1960's as a guess. Next time try to find a knife that has less wear and is close to original condition. The price will be higher but in general they are a better deal than the heavily used knives. But, bargain hard because many sellers ask far too much.
