Looks like from the tang stamping its a knife from Northfield Knife Company of Conn. I think they were in business from 1858-1919
Also there was a Northfield that operated from about 1931-1964

levines 3rd: northfield knife company - 1858-1919. trademark: UN-X-LD
manufacturer, northfield, cn.

goins: 1857-1964. patented all metal handle -1862. trademark: UN-X-LD
sold by northfield organization in 1929 to mr, gill. who continued making the knives untill 1964.

perhaps your tang stamp falls in the later dates?
i hope this helps.
