I purchased a nice Eye Brand folding hunter on ebay a couple of weeks ago. I paid for the knife the instant the auction ended. After 12 days I emailed the seller asking when I could expect delivery. After 2 more days I filed a dispute with PayPal. In 15 minutes he replied to the dispute email that I should receive the knife "very soon". I received it the next day (15 days total). I paid $7.50 shipping for priority mail, but he didn't send it until 13 days after the auction ended. Should I burn him on feedback, or let it slide. The knife is as advertised, but I think he should have let me know it would be delayed (especially after I emailed him asking about it). Whaddayathink?
Thanks
Keith

I'd give him neutral feed back and reflect the slow shipping and cost using the 5-stars that the bay uses. That star rating is more important to the seller than the feed back

God Bless America - Though I don't know why he would want to.
Man you guys are hard on a fellow. When I sell and item I try to ship the next day; and have shipped before receiving the payment (check); not a good idea. Most of the time I receive my items with end a week or so; but have waited 4 weeks at the most. I would just leave feedback "item as described". Heck, I bought an item on Oct 16th; from one of the AAPK stores; and still waiting on it or a refund.
Do what you think is right, did the seller give you a exscuse??? If not,,,they might. Maybe the seller is old and goes to the post office once a week? Car might have broke down, illness or a death in the family????? Give th seller a chance to exsplain,,,, you might feal sorry for them and do nothing,,,,,might give nuetral,,,then maybe negitive. But everybody diserves a chance to give a explanation.
Thanks to everyone for the replies, there are some very good points here.
I decided to make the feedback neutral with a comment about no communication until I filed a dispute, and that my item was postmarked 12 days after the end of the auction. If he would have just responded to my first email, or even said "sorry" in his response to the PayPal dispute email, I could have overlooked it. The neutral won't hurt his feedback rating, but I gave him the lowest scores (1 star) for everything except item description.
Thanks again,
Keith

good call, seller prolly shipped it "priority" usps,
just wasn't a priority for him to get to the post
office. they find a way around their jargon, unforunately.
sounds like you have risen above the situation.
btw, how do you like your eye brand? I got
my first one earlier this past summer and am
enjoying it immensely
"I like Case, Queen, S & M, Fightn' Rooster and many more." (quote stolen from one of Jody Brown's posts)
I love my Eye Brand knives. I use a Sod Buster Jr. for working outside, and my EDC is a 2-blade stag congress. It seems to take me a little longer to get a good edge on them, but they hold it very well. I have several others (Congress(2), Muskrat, Canoe, Stockman(2), Copperhead(2), and now the folding hunter), but I don't carry them. I've heard people say that the fit & finish is not as good as some other knives, but I haven't seen anything worth complaining about. As I understand it, they're made in the same Olbertz factory as Bulldogs and Fight'n Roosters.
