That last one, the bone handled, sure is a beauty. Thanks for showing. How many Keen Kutters do you have in your collection? Edward C. Simmons could never have envisioned so many of his knives with a caretaker in Saskatchewan more than 100 years after manufacture.

A couple of days ago, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. It is a The Ideal, two blades, two tang stamps, two springs, 3 1/4" closed, "dimpled" pins or rivets, tipped bolsters, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "The Ideal (written) (over) U.S.A." The secondary blade front tang stamp says, "U.S.A." The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade does have a CRISP half stop. The secondary blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The secondary blade does have a GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in FAIR condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Do you know what the Case pattern number is? Or what’s the closed length?

Found it , it is 3 5/16 long closed

I’m guessing it’s a 9260, but neither Sargent’s 4nor Parker’s list anything but bone (6260) and stag (5260) versions, and say the 60 pattern is 3-7/16 long. Most Case patterns that have tip bolsters are much smaller. If it’s not a 60 pattern maybe Steve Pfeiffer or someone else will recognize it.

I just wiped it off.
