After a long frustrating search over the last year…finally got my hands on this elusive ghost. Very happy with the condition. Not sure if the sheath is original from the 70s. But its not bad.

Seems like I can't find anything but little Bokers lately, the latest is an 8388 tiny stockman, used and some rust pits but solid:
I believe the last one was a little congress pattern.

Case Baby Butterbean fresh from the mailbox. It’s Kentucky Bluegrass bone which is a very dark green and hard to capture in pictures.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Back on one of those cold January nights I got on the Buck website for the first time in my life. A short time later I was ordering a custom knife. It arrived today, after several phone calls and emails were ignored, one month later than promised. After being repeatedly ignored or given the runaround, I demanded my money back. Within 30 minutes, I received an email that my knife had miraculously been shipped.
I suppose the knife looks okay, but it doesn't open/close smooth - you can see where the kick catches on the liner, and I don't particularly like how the scales fit the bolsters. This is the first new knife I have ordered in my life, and it will be the last. I will stick with pre 1960 knives. Buck knives seem to have a great following, but no more for me. I experienced lousy customer service and am not particularly happy with the product.

Very sorry to hear this, Ike. That was a depressing read. They should have refunded your money when you asked them to. To ignore that request and ship the knife anyway was disrespectful even if the knife was perfect.Waukonda wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2026 11:59 pm Back on one of those cold January nights I got on the Buck website for the first time in my life. Much respect to you for taking the chance and branching out. Again, very sorry to hear this.

It's not all bad, I've decided to stash it until my grandson's next birthday and pass it along to him. He will think it is great.
Btw, I looked thru the Buck thread a few weeks ago, you have a great looking collection!

How disappointing Ike. Passing the knife along to your grandson is a perfect alternative. I’m glad to know that the knife will make someone happy. I am no longer depressed.Waukonda wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2026 1:31 amDang, Rick, I didn't mean to depress anyone!Railsplitter wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2026 12:52 amVery sorry to hear this, Ike. That was a depressing read.Another kind of weird thing, about 3 weeks ago they sent an email asking how I liked my new Buck knife. They must auto generate a follow up, based on what the ship date should have been.

Sorry Ike. That is a shame. I hate that American companies that need to put their best foot forward drop the ball like that.Waukonda wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2026 11:59 pm Back on one of those cold January nights I got on the Buck website for the first time in my life. In a time when customer service means everything, it really is a sad statement for a company of their history.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Ive ordered several knives from the custom shop and been quite happy. Except the one about 2 months ago. I never received a conformation of my order, which took 3 weeks longer than expected. I get that part, lots of orders. I emailed them several time receiving no responses. A phone call was not the most pleasant even tho it answered my questions. Not sure what to think but I will continue to re order until I see a more serious problem. Hard to say just whats goin on there At least I havent heard of buck using chinese knife kits in their knives ala Bark River. Which I have 1 of the fakes, great looker anyhow.
