Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

That's a super fine group of knives, Kevin ::woot:: I am particularly intrigued by that MOP Trapper with what appears to be a "Cattaraguas" tang stamp ::hmm:: I don't recall ever seeing that on a Case knife before. Very cool 8) (BTW, because I live under a rock, I don't know.....what or where is E-town?)

I think all the knives Tony Bose designed for Case have that pseudo New Grind look. As a big fan of the New Grind myself, I have always liked it, as well.

I also really like that Genuine Stag blade etch.....nice detail ::tu::

Mahalo, Q! ::handshake:: If I'm not mistaken, I believe this Case/Cattaraugus MOP Slimline Trapper is from the Encyclopedia set. I was immediately drawn to it when I visited this fella's table and the lighting at the show really brought out the fiery colors of the Pearl. I really like the Catt. shield, tang stamp and the scrolled bolsters as well. And the best part is, I traded for a couple of lesser knives that I was planning to get rid of anyway, so I didn't have to dig into the cash reserves. ::ds::

Here is my latest pick up. Used autumn bone Deep Canyon Barlow. So my question is what is the significance of the Deep Canyon name? On eBay I see deep canyons in various colors.

I just noticed the double pulls on the master spear blade on your Case Classic Cigar Whittler, Tony. I really like that, especially the nail nick inside the swage right at the end near the tip. Very 8) and unique feature. Gorgeous piece, I can see why you'd choose to hang onto that one ::nod::

The nail nick at the tip makes opening the big blade easier on the thumbnail for sure. It also has reliefs for opening the pen and coping blades.

Many thanks Cudgee! I don't safe a lot of Case Knives for they are hot sellers, and I am always on the hunt for them.
The other side of the coin is I always have a rotating collection of them.
