Some knife companies like buck and marbles have large knives, but they didn’t call them Bowies why?

This is the biggest one I have by Winchester, but the answer to the question will most likely come with all kinds of requirements to be called a Bowie knife.

Good looking knives you have there, Don.

To answer your question:
Because they aint.

Apparently it's a great selling point though.

The term has been bastardized and over-used to the extent it no longer has any definitive meaning aside from a “large” knife.
