Hello, blade brothers.

I have a handful of Case knives in need of replacement shields, and several bone handle knives with cracked or broken handles. Does anyone know a person/place that has replacement Case shields (I know I could technically send the knife in, but I figured that was overkill for a relatively straightforward fix)?

The bone handles will require more time to address, but I'm not even sure if there's an effective method out there for repairs. In some cases, I have the bone pieces that fell off, but in others, I only have similar material. Is there a reference anyone can suggest for whether fixing jigged and smooth bone handles is a rational undertaking, and where I might find some tips on how to go about it?

If you have not done any knife repair before, it is a bad idea to start with the knives mentioned. Try buying some cheapies to practice dis assembling, rehandling and reassembly before you tackle anything that has value. Bone handled knives with pieces of bone broken and missing can be patched with AcraGlas rather than replacing. If the knife is not dis assembled with care, you will ruin it before ever starting.
