Any Train Enthusiasts Out There?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

That station looks like some local libraries. Cool shot, Ike.

It is new, just opened last year. They spent more than $26 million on it, and it looks like a danged old library! ::rotflol::

That’s okay Ike
They spent $350 a square foot to add on to our Library number of years ago. Back in 96-97 they built the stupid library to look like an old farm house high ceilings a fire place. Nothing but a nightmare to heat no place to build up. Then when they wanted to add on they kept the same design. Neighbors did not like me. I was happy to let them add on square building two stories. Needless to say all got was higher taxes and I have not been through the door to see the waste of taxpayer dollars.

I have not posted my Christmas gift to myself yet I don’t think. I know MOP is not your favorite Ike.
This is a double post,
My trains from a while back run into my knife from now.
Thanks to RR for posting his knife like the one in the picture. I had to go find one. So here you have it trains and knives together.
Both with a constitutional theme kind of, close enough.
Enjoy
Steve

Not sure if this has been posted here or not but I saw it today on Reddit. The Guinness record longest song played by a model train. https://youtu.be/LNvZY6cOijo?si=0qq5ZbcXXR9N12en

Was looking at some vintage pics online, thought these 2 Chessie coal train pics were worth showing.

That's the farm in the background (circled, roughly 2 miles away) and the tracks on the far right are now the Canal Parkway leading out of downtown Cumberland. I think the picture was taken close to the Alpine-Eagle Macaroni Factory, which is now The Outdoor Club. Cool Conrail boxcar along with the Chessie cats.

Not sure about the location of your other picture, Ike.

That is something, John. When I posted these pics, I almost mentioned that it reminded me of the area in pictures that you post.

Very cool pictures and nice when you can identify and area you know like that or if you see from a plane. Very interesting to me.

More cool pictures, Ike. Those Tuscan PRR E units are sweet. That NS coal drag would have to be here on the East Coast, maybe along the Susquehanna? I bet those scrap-loaded gondolas are HEAVY. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Conrail (CR) was once Penn Central Transportation Company, Erie Lackawanna Railway, Ann Arbor Railway, Lehigh Valley Railroad, Reading Company, Central Railroad of New Jersey, Lehigh and Hudson River Railway, Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines (merged April 1, 1976), Monongahela Railroad (merged 1993) - courtesy of Wikipedia. I had to look it up to make sure I listed them all.

Steve, that is not my picture, I should have mentioned that. I just saw an article about it and thought I would post the pic.

Though it would be nice to see in person.

Railfanned in Granite City, Il today

The old switcher, SLCC (St Louis Car Company), used to work Union Station in StL, but now resides in the Granite City yard.
