Nice Moki/blueberry pancake shot, Fingers.....that one could be a calendar shot for sure (or perhaps a "menu shot" at IHOP ). I gotta say, though, those pancakes sure don't look tough enough to warrant the use of a serrated blade


Out and about the village on a very fine Friday morn netted these pics of my new S&M Heritage Jack on the roots of a Hala tree

As I was trying to get an acceptable shot, a curious little gecko came over to investigate

Pretty soon, his nosey neighbors began to gather around to see what was so interesting. Anything to eat here?

Suddenly, they all scampered away when their impromptu gathering caught the attention of someone a little higher up the food chain

Well, that winter storm activity has arrived! We have about four inches on the ground so far and it's still coming down. It's supposed to change to freezing rain later today. The forecasters are using words like CATASTROPHIC but it's just winter, no big deal.

Sas, I was just thinking about you, as down here in the South (Southern AZ) we have had a cold snap it was down to 58 all day long and it was pretty tough on everybody, but today it is back up to 82 so still a little chilly but I will survive! ,,, Akso, I have been doing some research on you and I'm really amazed at what a colorful past you have had!

Ya need me to send ya some wool blankets? I wouldn't want ya to catch cold. When you are an individual steeped in myth and legend, you can wake up with a new history every day. I've even been approached by the TV show "Ancient Aliens" wanting to investigate my "otherworldly" origins. Funny I thought I originated in the back seat of a 1953 Chevy Belair at rest stop on RT 66 near Flagstaff. Go figure.....

Mahalo, Squach I am always inspired to look for interesting backgrounds from looking at your photos.....and the background in your wire jack pic is no exception. Very cool

I rarely take this IXL out of my display case, much less out of the house in my pocket, because its pedigree makes it much too special to me to risk anything happening to it. I bought it on eBay years ago and later traded it to my old Hawaii trading partner in crime, PCWizard. He had glennbad take off the black plastic “Scapa” advertising covers and replace them with gorgeous Mammoth Ivory. He then ‘Bombed’ me with it. It’s now one of my most treasured knives in my collection.

For some reason I felt compelled to pull it out and take it for a spin around my village this morning. I was pleased at how well the grain in the ivory shows up in the outside light. Such a sweet swayback; now I’m tempted to EDC it more often

I'd say it's very nicely shown off, Squach Of course, a beautiful old survivor like that really doesn't need any photographic enhancements to look impressive.....in fact, I believe it would still look quite stunning even if you forgot to remove your camera's lens cover before taking a picture of it

That Jack is in amazing condition for a knife over 140 years of age. Very cool to see.

Great shots. I prefer the second photo, where I can really see the detail of that beautiful bone, as well as the lava and plant. I like gray, otherwise I would hate looking in the mirror.

So you aren't completely without good taste. That pattern does look vaguely familiar. That's a beautiful trio! Believe it or not, that maple leaf canoe has been on my wanted list for years. I haven't been able to snag one yet.
