Here are a couple of photos of an old Schrade. I suppose just seeing that I still have stuff like those old wrenches in my toolbox indicates that I am getting old.

I agree, though I suspect that part of it is that they were the tools I grew up using. Of course, just saying that I grew up using hand tools is another indicator that I am old.

Here is another photo of a a little MOP Queen City. One photo, three views. When I do stuff like this it makes me wonder just how the world looks to other kinds of critters: those with very different eyes.

Several years back we had a member, Deltaboy, who posted a lot about Honk Falls knives: the ones made by Frost, not the original company. I kind of miss Deltaboy's enthusiastic posts about knives that maybe were not really all that great. Here a is a little Honk Falls Peanut. The plastic handle material is not holding up very well, but other than that the knife is well made, as are most Frost knives.

At this time of year most of the herbs and wildflowers are withered away, even in the mild climate of the Gulf Coast. One of the wildflowers that is evergreen my garden is Wild Ginger. The leaves have a strong ginger aroma when crushed.

This little Kabar is just right for harvesting the occasional herb.

Another wild plant that survives the winter in my garden is the Partridge berry, also known as Twin Flower because the flowers always occur in pairs.

Very nice RoseCraft, John. I keep meaning to get a RoseCraft: they sure look good.

When I decided to start this thread, I intended to post just about any Peanut knife that I owned, regardless of where it was made. I do not want to annoy any folks who hate the sight of a Chinese made knife. Therefore I placed this thread in the Chinese Section. I would have put it in the General Knife Discussion if not for my concern about some folks inadvertently seeing stuff they do not want to see.

So that is why I am posting Case, along with various other USA made knives in the Chinese section. No one ever complains about seeing a Case or Kabar or Craftsman in any forum! As a side note, when I browse this forum I always look at New Posts first. When I do that I completely bypass the organizational structure of the Forum and see everything new. If others do that they will see this thread regardless of where in the forum it is placed.

Here is a Chipaway, another knife from the Frost Family. The fruit beside it is a Kumquat, a small Citrus from my garden. The Kumquats stay on the trees until a serious freeze or until new growth starts in the spring.

The year really has turned. Henbit, a weedy wildflower, is now blooming in my garden. I really need a magnifier to appreciate the beauty of the blossoms on this tiny plant. I also need a magnifier to appreciate the intricate shield on this Frost Family Peanut.

Here is another Steel Warrior. These knives are like the cheap wine from when I was in my teens.

Here is a Peanut from Pakistan. It has been many years since I last bought a knife made in Pakistan. Perhaps this one is better, though I do not plan to actually cut anything with it.

Notice the name: Valley forge. This is only my second knife with that name. My first is a venerable old Whittler that is probably a bit older than I am.

Also notice the profile of the main blade. That profile is identical to a Whitetail Cutlery Peanut, also made in Pakistan. And to a German Bull Peanut, supposed to be made in Germany.

Jmh - those are twelve fine Case knives. The two on the bottom without bolsters are a bit unusual. I do not recall seeing any of those before.

Here are a couple of Peanuts from Sears. I do not know who actually made them. These are both very well made knives from the last millennium. The wood on the Sears branded knife is especially nice, though I find it hard to capture in a photo.

I always like a thumbnail slot on a knife and both of these have that. The Sears has half stops on both blades and brass bolsters. I am always a fan of honest brass hardware on a knife or any other tool.

Here are a pair of Peanuts, a Boker USA and a John Primble, that I think are from the same factory. I have read that Boker USA had a factory in the USA, and that some John Primble knives were made there. Notice the shape of the frame in these two Peanuts. It is essentially the same as a Wharncliffe frame. That makes them different from any other Peanuts that I have seen from other factories.

Very nice etches on the blades of these two knives. I think the handles are Delrin.

Here is a Remington Peanut. This is a very nicely made little knife. Good walk and talk, good fit and finish.
