I just got this knife out and cleaned it up this morning. I got this knife for Christmas when I was a kid in the late '70's or early '80's at the latest. The model # is 11-308 and it was imported by Gutman. It came with a leather sheath that is long gone but I remember wearing it on my belt to school back when you could still carry a knife to school. It was a Buck knife for poor kids that had parents that couldn't afford Buck knives. I remember putting my name on it in the Sears Christmas catalog. I think it was around $10.00 at the time but I could be wrong. Does anyone know what years these knives were available?
Thanks a lot!

I do not know what years Gutman imported that model from Japan. However, it's been posted on AAPK that the change in the exchange rate between our dollar and the German mark forced Gutman to abandon importing knives from Germany and turn to Japan. The retail price on a German pistol I bought in 1977 doubled in 1978, possibly 1979, but I'm pretty sure 1978. I hope that helps.
