Back in December 2013 Jerry commemorated his fifth year on this forum by giving away five knives in celebration. I was lucky enough to win the drawing for one of those knives. It was pretty much the nicest knife I owned at the time. Here is a photo of that knife along with a sprig of Rosemary for remembrance.

I am so sorry to hear this. Jerry was the first person to "Bomb" me. he sent me this great Camillus 18 Jack knife years ago. I was thrilled, and when I asked if there was anything I could do for him, his reply was "that's not how it works, nothing is expected in return". He told me that this one should do until I could get a better one. I think I irritated him a bit, and even sent him a private message to apologize. I certainly didn't want to make a Marine angry! I never looked for a better one, as this one was perfect.

RIP Jerry, you will be missed. My sincere condolences to his friends and family.

After going back and looking at the posts from the 2022 POS exchange, I discovered that I have quite a number of knives that I got from jerryd. From top: Pakistani dog groomer, Landers, Frary & Clark pen, Queen City Doctors knife, Frost jack in addition to the Camillus #29 trapper I showed earlier in this thread.

Just saw this announcement. So sad to hear the news.
Jerry sent me this strop several years ago. I think there
was a discussion about strops and I mentioned I have never
owned one. About a day passed and I got a message from
Jerry. What is my address because he wanted to send me
something. That is the kind of guy he was.

If you wanted to put a name to a member of this forum
that was the best Jerry would be on the top of this list.

One time he made a comment here. I replied Jerry
“You are a real character”. I don’t remember him
responding but if anyone knows me will knows I
don’t say it often. Only with real sincerity and respect.

RIP Jerry

Bob[

I sent Jerry's granddaughter a link to this topic which she shared with her mom.
We can all add our memories of Jerry to this thread and I will let her know that much more has been added.

As Phil and John have said, Jerry was a master of computers. He helped me different times and even gave me the recipe for his red hot's dessert.
He will be missed.

Oh no, we lost another good one...I've been a bit absent from the forum with an illness the past few weeks, so just reading this now.

Just like with Ivoryman, this one hits kinda hard. I've done a handful of knife project for Jerry over the years, he was always a supporter of my work, which means a lot.

This was one of my earlier pieces I did for him, when I was just getting started modding TL-29's. IIRC, this was one he was going to give his brother maybe? If you look closely, the screwdriver mod had his last name etched into it either by him or someone else along the way.
Jerry 9.JPG

Then IIRC, he engaged me to make this one for Tommy. I had a blast with this one...
Jerry Cam 23-4.JPG

Then he engaged me to make this for him. Of course, I screwed up the direction of the chevron, LOL. So he had me re-do it the correct way with some different bone...
Jerry23-4.JPG
Jerry23-7.JPG

The most unique one I did for him was this 72. I re-did it with PC board...

There were probably a few others, but these ones stood out to me.

I had noticed his posting becoming more infrequent the last couple years, but I guess I didn't realize things were that bad.

RIP Jerry...

That Pc handled knife is very indicative of Jerry. I love that Glenn. Here's a pic I saved of Jerry and Dave at the Badger Show I believe.

Jerry is the one who made my avatar for AAPK because I couldn't get it to work.
