Hen & Rooster Pocketknives

Just a general question for you guys...I know many of you have
expertise / informed opinions on this question...

I've just today received my X-Mas 2006 SMKW catalog. I've been
noticing and admiring the Hen & Rooster line of pocketknives for
a while now...(from catalog pictures). I don't own any yet.

I know a little about these knives, and now I'm seriously considering
ordering a couple...what's the general opinion out there...? Are they
well-made, good, solid knives? I'm sorry if this might sound like a
silly question to those of you who know they're either good or bad...
I'm uninformed as to this particular make of knife...but they look good,
especially the stag pocketknives. Thanks, guys.

I myself have owned dozens over the years and find them to be of very good quality. Most of my collection consists of GERMAN made knives.Hen and rooster,Bulldogs and Bokers to name a few... I would definitely try to stick with natural handles, although celluloid is nice and pretty,it shrinks and causes rust problems over time. BUY one, you'll be happy you did!!!!

In my opinion Frost has put so many variations on the market that he has severely degraded the collectibility of the Hen & Rooster brand.

If you want a good "user", Henckels seem to be a better value right now. United owns the brand but has liquidated their stock with no intentions to have more made (from my understanding). Thus the market is flooded with them right now and they are Boker made knives.

Having said all that, I have not heard any complaints with the current Hen & Rooster product.
