Post your Moki’s

Can anyone tell me anything about this knife? It was in a box with other knives of my G'pa's. I know nothing about Moki knives and there doesn't seem to be any indicator of a model number or anything on it.

That is called the Silver Feather model number MK520. Originally sold for about 60 dollars, many years ago. Today I’ve seen these for anywhere from 75 to 200. People asking for 200 doesn’t mean they are actually selling for that. Arizona Customs has one they are starting out asking 325 for but I seriously doubt anyone will pay that for it. One just like it on eBay for 100 dollars. Hope this helps.

It’s not on eBay anymore, if it’s the same one. It will be in Connecticut in a few days. I’ve been busy chasing all metal knives lately. The bulk of which are from Japan or China so when the seller of this Moki agreed to a discount I couldn’t resist. The only other Moki I’ve owned is the small Lakota Teal which I didn’t even know was a Moki. The two photos are the MK520 which was originally imported by Spyderco in 1994 and the Lakota Teal.

Congrats Fingers, both are nice knives. I do have to warn you that Moki’s are addictive. Moki’s are what turned me into a collector and not just an accumulator of knives. Couldn’t believe the quality for the price, compared to custom knives that these compare to for a fraction of the cost. Enjoy.

That didn’t take long. Dr. Shank-n-Stein here on AAPK had a used MK520S in good used condition so now I’m officially in deep. The serrated version looks like it will be the user and the plain one is the pretty one

No problem. I used that screen name because I use to talk about knives being sharp and shiny to my wife.
That serrated version looks nice. I could see using that one a lot. Glad you like your Moki’s.

After I received the plain edge Moki Silver Feather the other day I was hooked. So, like any normal knifenut I couldn’t resist the serrated version. It was listed as used by Dr. Shank-N-Stein here on AAPK. I thought I might have to send it off for a spa treatment. Other than scratches it is typical Moki quality and the serrated blade is as sharp as the day it left the factory. My new #1

A Moki looks good almost anywhere you photograph them. Here is one my Moki barbwire jigged bone Kronos models with some of our fresh picked strawberries last spring.

With the proper lighting and a little editing my scratched up serrated Moki is like new.
