Checkered past wrote: Sat Nov 19, 2022 6:38 pm Hi all. Well I have dipped into the US WWII pocket knife pool. I was lucky enough to find a M.D. U.S.N. knife in my local area. It's a Camillus 4 line. Steel liners and spacer. Unfortunately when I got there there was another. An Imperial tang stamped MD USN knife, also steel liners and spacer. Good snap in both. Nice that the Camillus is engraved on the bolster as well.

These are pretty hard to find in Canada so really happy to have them. I look forward to tracking down some more...

I know this thread is a couple years old, but I’m hoping to revive it. I need help to determine if this is a real deal
MD-USN or not. I can’t find it in any of my books, but it looks really good. So, what are your thoughts on it?
Thank you,
John

It looks like the shield is glued on top of the handle material. Have never seen that shield on a knife with that stamp. The etch yes , shield no ! Look forward to what the heavy hitters ( experts) have to say .

I've never seen that type of shield on that model knife before. Looks suspicious to me but my experience is limited.
