Tell me about my new DeLuxe 69

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Nice long line Camillus. The long line stamp was used from part of 1950 s thru the 1970 s or so . The main blade would have had an etch on it . Nice bones on your knife . Would say it’s an early model w/ that bone . Main blade has some metal loss , probably due to sharpening. Looks like a great EDC( every day carry ) . Would put a good edge on it , oil the joints and use it . The coining ( jimping) was done on many of there deluxe models.

excellent early federal shield era deluxe, guessing earliest possible range for that tang stamp. these are significantly nicer than later 69s with the football shield and 'brownstag' delrin. these have milling on all three liners front and back, for one. second, the etch on these is *deep,* almost appears stamped. I can make out letters on yours, whereas the later knives, the etch is very light and seems to disappear very easily. great find
