STANDBY, DEAL IN PROGRESS.

Post by JGLTX »

I sell an item to be paid for by money order. I tell the buyer the item will be mailed after my bank accepts the MO. There is delay inolved mailing the MO to me and then waiting for the bank to say OK. In the meantime, my item is still listed for sale on your website. Is there a way to post a STAND BY, POSSIBLE DEAL IN THE WORKS" for the time lapse? It's not fair to buyer #1 that the USPS is a little slow and buyer 2 wants to deal instantly with PayPal. What is the protool?

if you (as the seller) have a deal in progress, change the quantity to zero. If the deal falls through, change the quantity back to one. With a deal in progress, there is no buyer #2 (except as a backup in case the deal with buyer #1 falls through)

Too late. I deleted the 2 items instead. Can I retrieve the sale items?

Once deleted, listings are removed from your seller's dashboard, BUT if the item was sold, they are archived.

You can find your sold items via the following link:

I’m chiming in late here but if the order was placed through the AAPK system and method of payment was checked as “money order”, then it would automatically take the item for sale down from being purchased by others. When you ship the item and update tracking information that should complete the sale. Not sure how an item would remain for sale in the interim if that method of payment was selected on an order placed on the system?
Or am I missing something here?
If the payment is never received, then the seller should be able to cancel the order and the item would go right back up for sale with the same item number.

This is true. The sold item's inventories should have been adjusted if sold through the store platform. Thanks for pointing that out, Mark ::nod::

I assumed since a buyer #2 was mentioned that he was transacting outside of AAPK because of his statement “my item is still listed for sale on your website”. If buyer #1 transacted a MO transaction through AAPK then there can be no buyer #2 until the item is relisted. We are in agreement ::tu::
