A prayer for my wife & son.

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

A prayer for my wife & son.

Post by knife7knut »

My wife Jan is back in the hospital. Her bone cancer has become more aggressive & complicated due to the diagnosis of Parkinsons disease. Several blood infusions seem to be only a temporary fix. Her overall health is marginal. Dementia also seems to be raising its ugly head as well. The suddenness of the onset is unbelievable. All of this began on Christmas eve.
Our son John had attempted to relocate a tree with his car the week before and sustained a broken clavicle, 4 broken ribs, broken heel on his left foot, broken ankle on the right foot. Hdd checked himself out of the hospital against my wishes. He is in a drug rehab progsam that l believe is counterproductive.

My heartfelt thanks to all who replied. Our son had one cast removed & replaced today. He was ORDERED to stay off it for 6 weeks. His other leg has an open wound from a side air bag deployment. They are really worried about that becoming infected or gangrenous.
My wife's condition has deteriorated to her becoming non verbal and unable to eat. They are considering a feeding tube. Her EEG & MRI showed a small amount of bleeding in the brain but not enough to warrant surgery. She has been taken off her 2 cancer meds & blood thinner and put on a med for Parkinson's disease.
Please forgive the long ramble, but l needed to unload a bit tonight. Thank you all for your prayers! Ray

Our prayers will continue and I do understand some of what you are dealing with. Dealing with a similar situation, my wife's pancreatic cancer was difficult but I found great help and encouragement from folks here on this AAPK thread, The Upper Room and of course from local friends and folks from the church where we attended. Even near the end of my wife's ordeal we were offered spiritual help from hospice chaplains if we chose to have them. Most medical facilities have local pastors, priests on call for counselling when we need extra help or maybe just a listening ear.
God bless you, Ray as you navigate this with your wife and son. ::pray::

My heart goes out to you Ray.
There are many of us who have walked the road you're now walking. It's not an easy journey, but most of us here who have walked that road would be happy to help you share that burden if you want to talk.
Drop us a PM or call.
God bless you my friend,
Dale
