The Latama Legend, 10 year anniversary

Post by BestVintageKnives »

We just surpassed the 10 year anniversary of the 2 time award winning book, The Latama Legend.

Regarded at the top book ever produced on Italian switchblades. Copies are so rare now they sell for more than the knives themselves. A book made about collectibles is now a collectible itself! Several runs had to be produced due to high demand over the years.

The Museum in Maniago, Italy has a permanent display with both the Latama Legend and Art Of The Switchblade on permanent display. A real honor for the authors Neal Punchard, Charles Cioffero, Professor Dan Fuller and Walt Halucha.

I remember when they published this, hard to believe it was that long ago. 👍

Send me your address. About 6 months ago I found a box of 7 original pressings. The last 7. All new in box. Like the last 5 USA pennys. lol. One sold for $16 million.

Yes. I may have your address. But dang I was editing it when you quoted it. I revised it up above.

It’s the first edition. I do like the second pressing a bit better with gold foil lettering but hey you’ll have a true first edition.

I may call Walt from Latama and Neal Punchard and have these last few autographed. I’ll probably give the last few books away to new collectors to get them started out right in this hobby!

It’s always good idea to help the newer and younger guys in the hobby. I like having the hobby be a happy positive place where everyone feels welcomed and equal.

There’s a new forum and database being built for collectors. Everyone will be welcome and everyone will be encouraged to be friendly and make our hobby fun and exciting.

Interesting…. Who is working on this? I’ve been around a long time, have lots of knowledge on the subject and haven’t heard anything about it until now.

Build it and they will come. I already see negativity from the same people who ruined every forum. The negativity by people who don’t even know the most basic tools of a leverlock knife. I remember years ago people charging $35 a month to access a paid forum with 3 articles. Lmao!! Anything to earn a sandwich I guess. I’m done with the megalomaniacs in this hobby.

Remember the giant folder of Korn material I gave you? I have 25 years of saved photos. I’ll be putting everything online nice and neat for members to see. No longer will George Korn be called a failure by fools standing on the shoulders of giants and sh*t on them while doing so. Imagine a modern day amateur with zero patents or new knife designs ever, calling George Korn a failure? Do I need to explain this?? Some people need to leave the hobby and go back to selling flashlights. Lmao.

The switchblade hobby needs a restart. 25 years of the same guy fighting with everyone has ruined the forums from TSF to the Spring knives forum to the Spring club and talk blade and sharper deals. I’ve watched them all fall apart because of the same non-collector / moderators and non collectors. It’s a joke.

It’s going to be a great source for my friends and new members. Zero old baggage will be allowed. Zero wrong info is allowed. Zero fighting allowed, egos gone, lying gone, you name it. No posting stolen material with zero credit given. No Chinese made designs. No going after people and shooting at them over an “dirty look.” No doxxing other members with children in their homes. The gig is up.

We won’t be criticizing any other forums or people. It’s a new beginning. A new future with new people.

It’s going to be a nice slow paced forum & database with all the best info and we will be encouraging friendship over psychotic people who only want an ego rub, control and money from everyone.

Control your play ground.

My friend sent me some positive messages the other day on an Instagram reel. He knows nothing about the switchblade hobby but I thought this was a great meme.

Hey bro,

Remember that Korn you sent off for repairs and it came back and it still didn’t work? You had to make the new screw yourself and you made a drawing of the measurements?

I’m glad that knife is working well now that you fixed it yourself.
