Re: It's Wharncliffe Wednesday!
Last week I showed a Case 207W that I had glennbad modify with Stag because I thought Case had never made a two-blade Stag Mini Trapper. Not too long after Glenn did that mod for me I discovered that Case did in fact make a 5207W. I don't know how many were made, but in all my years collecting 07Ws, I have seen only three come up for sale. Although it didn't come cheap ($200
), I immediately bought the first one I saw and was glad I did because the other two sold for even more
At the time, I felt that was an outrageous amount to pay for a Mini-T, even one with beautiful raindrop Damascus like this one has. But, nowadays as I look at the direction knife prices are heading, I am starting to think maybe I got a bargain. Funny how that works.

A couple more Case Classics and a very small Al Mar that I guess you could call a less defined wharncliffe.

Very fine group of Copperheads, Kevin, and a beautiful Muskrat, John.
Nice Winchester, Redrider.
Q, that raindrop Damascus and stag Case is about as good as a knife can get.
Chickenman, those two Case Classics are perfect.
I am so going to lower the bar with my knife for today. Here is another of my Steel Warriors.

Hey Mel - that Steel Warrior gets the award for most "unique" sides - I really like the texture & outside the box appeal of that one

Not a lowering of the bar at all, Mel. When I saw your Steel Warrior Wharncliffe Whittler, I thought the handle might be Impala Jigged Bone; it certainly looks like it to me

I can see why that one would be a favorite!
Thanks for the kind words about my knife, John and Q. The jigging is called Impala, but I am pretty sure that the actual material is something along the lines of Pakkawood. Here is a close up of another of my knives of the same pattern where you can really see the material.

Think you will recognize one of them ... some may call it a spear point, but it is in Wharnie territory ... Many thanks again for that one!
Still have the fever though ... this topic is contagious!!

Some folks may disagree, but I have seen both of those (Al Mar & Parker) called "modified Wharncliffe" same as the Lone Wolf Loveless City KnifeCorn Creek Cutlery wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 3:25 pm some may call it a spear point, but it is in Wharnie territory
