trying to find out when this hen & rooster was made

i recently bought this hen & rooster kife at a garage sale.. the guy i bought it from said he "thinks" that is was made in the 1970's. i would just like to get some sort of confirmation on the time period

ok i just received a e-mail from A.G. Russell saying that it is clearly not from the 70's

and that it was probably made in the last couple years.. does any one know the the differences between the older tang marks and the newer ones?

You might try Smoky Mountain Knife Works website, not sure what it is. They carry these and I have seen that shield on them, that makes me think it is modern also.
Other than that, you may search eBay and ask a Seller of them if they know for sure.
