Yessiree, Bob....when it's fully open Old Hickory is as solid as a fixed blade. And just look at that Moki level runup....tight as a bank vault ::nod::

Thanks again for giving it to me, Squach. Not the type of knife I ever would have gotten for myself, but in the short time I've had it, Old Hick has really grown on me :)

Oh. Oh that is nice. The simple wood scales are a facade for a well made knife. Well that's two check marks on the tally sheet, must now shop for one.

That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend. ::tu::

QTCut5 wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 8:04 pm The Squach crimson canoe that I won in the November GAW did not arrive unaccompanied. Fearing it would get lonely on its long voyage from New England to Hawaii and possibly get into mischief, Squach included Old Hickory as a chaperone and travel companion (the shy and elusive Sasquach may be anti-social beasts, but they are also extremely kind and generous creatures!) The long voyage turned out not to be as long as expected and Old Hickory quickly got bored with nothing to do but sit around watching Crimson Canoe pose for Big Island glamour shots. So, today OH got to have a turn posing for pics while I was waiting for my wife at her dermatologist appointment.
O.K. as Marcel Ledbetter once said, "You Done Flung a Cravin' on me!!" I'm going to get one of those Old Hickory Folders. I've Got a Complete Old Hickory Butcher Set of Knives with Hanging Wooden Holder that my mom gave me, that was given to her by my grandfather when we came back from Germany in 1960. It will go good with them and feel right at home. ::tu::

Q, you're just showing off now! It was 26 degrees a few minutes ago when I let Billy out to tend to his doggy business. Absolutely beautiful shots, great S&M plus gorgeous scenery. ::tu::

Great pictures, Q! As you've said before, S&M 51s are some of the best Mini-Ts ever built.
I think I'm about ready to head to the Aloha State for the winter. Already had to break out the snow shovel twice this month and we'll be getting down to single digit temps this weekend. ::teary_eyes::

Q, sure appreciate your pictures of the scenery over there . Looks like paradise from here .
With that said here’s a couple pics of my tour around the back yard in below zero temps . The Farmers Jack gets some pocket time here in the winter . The Pearl Sta - Sharp is an occasional carry . The sunlight cast more rays of light so need to work on my photography skills a bit yet .
Getting good knife pictures is a real challenge.
Happy Holidays to everyone!

A, Sarge, Charlie, Glenn, Ripster, knives-of-France - all looking good!
With this cold snap coming thru, those pics look mighty inviting, Q! Enjoy your 70 degree weather! ::tu::  Getting down to 17 tonite. Not as low as a lot of folks on here, but mighty cold for the Carolinas!

What? You have a pet javelina now? Or do you have your hands on a bow and a bottle or barbeque sauce in your hip pocket?

Oh, nice knife too. I like the way you set up the shot but I gotta' ask, did you use a trail cam to get it?
