Horn swing bolster WANDY SB

Snagged this one at a local auction. Not really a SB collector but this way too good a knife not to get. Marked “WANDY INOX” and “ITALY” on the back side. Dark horn handles and works like a champ. Swing bolster.

find it hard to believe that bill deshives dont know about Wandy anyways Wandy was a stamp used by the Mauro Mario company back in late 1950's and early 1960's , you can find Wandy stamped knives in both transitional and picklock models and in just about every size made 5.5" up to 15" stilettos .

Thanks for the info. Wandy’s seem to be found all over Europe and the USA. Exported by the Mauro Mario family.

Mauro Mario was not a factory with a foreman. Mario Mario was a small office run by two brothers. They ordered knives from dozens of different makers in Maniago.

Angelo Campolin was not the Foreman of Mauro Mario. That’s wrong info from 25 years ago. Angelo Jr later reported they only owned 2 sizes of tooling for Mauro Mario knives.

They also told Tim “coltello a scatto” means “a s... knife”. He repeated it over and over and you parroted it as well. In reality it means “a spring release knife.”

Angelo Jr. didn’t know better. He was like 20 plus add in a language barrier and everything was lost in translation and wasn’t explained right. Even now their website just says “they started a relationship…”

Zero evidence about a factory, zero evidence about 100,000 switchblades per year, etc etc. I believe that’s all fabricated by Tim Z to tell a story. He got so much wrong and missied so many facts it’s sad. Factual history needs to be rewritten from made up stories.
