3 3/8” Schrade auto

Post by stockman »

On these double switchblades, why does so many of these knives not latch the small blade. It will bounce. Harold

Not sure why Harold. Could be that as the knife is used it begins to loosen up or that it wasn't a QC concern. The object being that you didn't need a fingernail to open the knife is still met even with the blade bouncing out of the open and locked position. I prefer not to have the blades bouncing back but it is very common.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

It seems almost normal to me I’ve had several that worked that way. I pinched it at the blade pin to try to tighten it up didn’t help. I would like to peen the pin but probably break the covers. Harold

When the knives were new, they were tighter and bounce back didn't happen.

I thought about trying to peen the blade pin. Also thought about damage I might do to the handle material. Harold
