Found this little gem at the local flea market last summer. Possible ww2 trench art.
Made from a .30 cal.shell casing stamped W.R.A. Co. 18 slightly flattened on the open end. Another section of casing cut off on both ends, sliced lengthwise, flattened and soldered to the other case. The slot is formed to allow a single edge razor blade to slide in. It can be fitted with the edge either exposed or hidden to allow it to be carried safely.
I dated this to the ww2 era because that particular head stamp was discontinued circa ?1939. Whatever the case, it is a unique item for my accumulation. And the price was right too: 5 bux.
