I have a DES Garantie Leverlock Auto.
Stag handles.
Is this a DAVID EVERETS DES? What am I missing here? I scoured the internet and my books, and nothing.
Would love the input from the community. Thank you in advance.

All I Could Find Was D.E.S. GARANTIE Was Italian Made For The German Market.

Yes. DES stands for David Everts, Solingen. Based on the design, I'd wager you knife was made by Giovanni Octavio Massaro in Maniago, Italy.

It should also be noted that DES was purchased by Ludwig Groten, who continued to use the DES mark.

Germany has had a prohibition on switchblades with blades over 8.5 cm long for quite some time, so if the blade is over 8.5 cm it was made for sale outside of Germany. This is the reason why Italian-made stilettos sometimes have unusually short blades compared to the handles, because they were intended for sale in Germany.
