Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
I just got this great little German SMF Garantie knife today. I think the handles are horn, your opinions? This is not an old knife but I love everything about it, with one exception, it appears to be missing a blade which was not disclosed by the seller. They may have not even noticed but I have sent him a message. Opinions?

Schrade (Adler) Century Series Endeavour; 91mm.
Victorinox produced an 84mm equivalent called the Apprentice. It was not made in huge numbers (along with the "Electrician" for Radio Shack which had the cable blade in place of the combo can and bottle opener with screwdriver); and is a little hard to find.
The Endeavour seems to be mostly found with scales advertising the (mostly Irish-made) Tradesman line. I don't know if it was a part of the Tradesman line or not. Adler assembled knives for the German Army using Victorinox parts. Personally, their Swiss Army copies are only a slight bit lower quality than Victorinox--great knives (at least the ISC ones).
I've been wanting a knife that didn't weigh much, but was full size and had a Phillips screwdriver. For scissors, I carry a Classic SD--pliers, actual pliers from tool steel. Thus, the Endeavour fills that niche perfectly.
It's in really good shape. The scales were a little scratched up, and the blade had a tiny amount of rust that scraped off with a pencil. However, the blade still has the factory edge (which was still sharp) and there are little signs of carry or use. Thus, I'm still a little hesitant to use it.

A small spanish navajа. I can definitely date it to around 1930-40.
A guy gave it to me for "restоration"
. I removed the rust but left the patina. I oiled the joints and waxed the handle. That's it.

Some great looking Barlow’s have been added lately. Thought I would add a couple that I picked up recently.
A Robeson by Queen RCC Barlow in bone stag. And on the other end of the price spectrum a Marbles made in China Barlow. I like these gun checkered handle on these. I saw this on a mountain man lockback that someone posted and went hunting for this handle material and found this Barlow and couldn’t pass it up.

Thanks Tim, the Marbles is under 30 bucks, depending on the seller. Can’t go too wrong with that. Plus it looks nice with those checkered gunstock bone handles.
